Back from Holiday

Well have had a lovely time in Northumberland. We stayed in 3 different hotels and have had lots of trips out. The weather has been absolutely fantastic all the time we have been away.

I have also celebrated my birthday whilst away, and came home to lots of cards and more presents. I love birthdays that last more than a day.

Today a friend came round with a card and present. I loved the card and thought it was very me......

very me !!

Salad is what I need to be eating more off after the excesses of the holiday. The dogs were very happy to see us when we picked them up from the kennels yesterday. I think Bear thought he would never see us again. Didn't take long for everything to return to normal. Dog fur everywhere !! Bless them.

Ahhhhh The Weekend

What a week. Have been busy at work this week and then finished it off at a funeral. It was the funeral of a good friend's Dad. It is funny how you get to thinking about how we worry about things that really are not that important in the grand scheme of things. It puts things into perspective, the really important things in life are Love and Joy.

I treated myself to this orchid a few weeks ago. I have had them in the past but have always been confused as to how to look after them properly. Then I was watching the Chelsea Flower Show and heard a valuable piece of advice on how to care for them. Just once a week you should plunge the pot into water right up to the top of the pot and leave for 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes is up pour away any excess water and that should be enough until the following week. So simple and I have to say it seems to be working. The problem comes in trying to remember which day of the week you last did it. I have settled on Saturday morning as that is when I tend to do most of my housework.

I have also managed to get a better picture of Bear. He was at the Vets yesterday for his annual booster vaccination so he was sulking a bit I think.

He is such a handsome boy.

Also one of my Christmas presents last year was this lovely cushion. I am sure that anyone who loves their dogs will relate to this.

Anyway enough ramblings, I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Please leave me a message as you pass through. I had my first comment yesterday from lovely Pam at "A Good Life in Tydd" - thank you Pam xx

The Wonderful Weekend

I would like to introduce you to our lovely dogs. This is Smudge, hiding in the greenery. She is a pretty girl.

and this is Bear. I could not get him to look at the camera.

He is far too interested in the smell he has discovered.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Thursday Thoughts

I can't believe we are nearing the longest day. I love the long summer days, OK there may not have been much sunshine but the light nights allow you so much more freedom to do what you want. I love leaving the windows open and hearing the birds singing. The birds in our garden are currently eating a lot of fat balls. I am filling the feeders up daily. It is lovely to watch them though. They make me smile.

Hello

Well hello to the world of blogging. I have followed various blogs over the past few months and have enjoyed reading about other peoples interests, so I thought I would give it a go myself. I haven't got any specific goals to achieve, I will just blog about things I come across as I go about my daily life.
